Cheap Breaks to Paris
Following on from the potentially devastating news for Spain, as thousands of holiday-makers are axing trips to the Costas, Times Online has reported this week on how the tourism industry in Paris is facing difficult times.
According to the report by Chris Haslam, international arrivals are down by 8.1% on last year, hotel occupancies by more than 10%, and the queues for the Eiffel Tower – celebrating its 120th birthday this year – have rarely been shorter.
The growing crisis has prompted hotels to slash prices by up to 70%, in an attempt to win back tourists to the world’s most visited city.
So if you fancy a cheap Paris break, there’s never been a better time to grab a bargain.

My friend is traveling to Paris over spring break and before she leaves I want to make her a little survival kit of sorts of “things you should have when in paris.” For example, When traveling in paris it is important to have the classic little black dress; a disposable camera; etc…
Any ideas?
You definitly want to have:
1. A metro map. The metro is super easy to use, but just in case
2. A phrase/book dictionary. The French will be much more willing to help you if you just TRY to speak French.
3. A camera! Paris is amazing. Don’t go without one!
4. An open mind. You will have so much more fun if you are open to new ideas and expiriences.
5. A cork screw. Trust me on this one….
6. A two way radio(if you don’t switch over your cell phone). Switching your phone can get soo expensive. This is a good way to stay in touch in an emergeny!
7. An appetite! Food Food Food. You will eat. A lot.
8. A nice outfit. For any formal dinners or clubbing!
9. A Visa card. The exchange is better and EVERYONE accepts Visa.
10. Did I mention the cork screw?

best Deals for Paris Package with eurostar?

we want to have a short breaks from london to paris for 4 or 5 nights with eurostar. Any body knows any place I can get the best price for the whole package
The 2 best priced packages I bought with the Eurostar were found on lastminute.com, my partner and I went to Brussels for 3 days and also to Paris a few months later. Might be worth the try, I don’t know if ours were specials or just standard fares but both times the hotels were ideally located and they were very good
Paris for spring break 2010 with 3 kids?

I am planning to take my wife and 3 kids to Paris at the end of next march. Where should we stay? Should we do the musee d’orsey? What else in Paris? If you could do a 1 or 2 day side trip, would it be to Normandy, Tours or Clermont-Ferrand? I need a website for rail service in france and car rental. Any info is helpful. Kids are 12,11,8.
Wow you asked for lot of information. I lived there a few years ago. You best bet is to search the internet, you can find anything you need. Paris has many things to see so you will need at least a week to see the most popular sights: Eiffel Tower, Notredame church, Champs Elyses and Arc D’Triumph.
What I want to know is ..What is the big deal about Paris Hilton breaking out in a rash and gets sent home?

So what if she is underhouse arrest.If you or I had broken the law like that we would have gotten more time and would not have gotten sent home because of a rash.She's a celebrity …so what ..isn't the law for everyone?
wad a load of crap. if a prisoner can be sent home based on medical conditions, then its a screwed up justice system. i would get really sick before going in! paris's daddy prob payed to get her out. or even paid someone to rub some shit on her to create the rashes!
