Lille or Belgium on Eurostar?

Posted by Allen

Hi there, i am hoping to plan a romantic break for my husband and self for the Autumn and was wanting to go on Eurostar to either Lille or maybe Begium.
Any suggestions?

Come to Belgium! Lot’s to see and lots to do!
Brugge is definitely a beautiful city if the sun is shining… (always a problem her in Belgium) but Gent is very nice to…
It depends really on what you are looking for…
You take the train to Brussels-South and right there you can change to an other train. Almost every major city is reachable without one hour and a half…
I included the link to the Belgian railways (nmbs) so you can look how long a train takes…and also take a look at the B-excursions…

I would recommend Brugges – you will need to change in brussels to a local train service.
It is a very pretty place to visit. Lovely architecture, you can go for a canal trip, or sample the local beers, and the local waffles!
Bring a picnic on the train – champagne and strawberries etc – it will start yiour trip off nicely.

We went to Brussells last year and although the city itself was beautiful I wasn't as impressed as other places. There seemed to be a lot of people wandering around and drinking cans of lager early in the morning. Some places just outside of the centre were haunted at night by drunks and smelled badly of urine……. I would recommend Bruges or Lille for a more 'quaint' and romantic adventure.
